RescueNet To Return Home David Skeat Thursday, January 28th 2010
After more than 2 weeks in Haiti the RescueNet team are on their way home. RescueNets key role is to stabalise things whilst other NGOs set up shop. The team endured long hours and treated hundreds of people with horrific injuries freeing up other NGOs to sort out the difficulties in the distributon programs. The team saw some severe injuries that were unusual and difficult to treat.
One of the hight lights for the team was their involvement in the extraction of a man form the rubble after he had been trapped for 10 days. He had survived underneath the rubble on cans of soft drink.
The team will now have a well earned rest.
ARMS will continue to run its Haiti appeal and will be forwarding funds to YWAM Haiti and Mercy Works two NGOs known to us who are invloved in giving direct relief to the victims og the earthquake. Recruitment and sending of more Australian workers is still a likelihood.
Donations to the ARMS Haiti appeal can be made on our secure site.

Simply enter in your credit card details and select Haiti Equake Appeal from the International Projects menu.
A statement on how ARMS uses the funds raised in its emergency appeals can be downloaded from here.
